run netsetup.bat or run SETUP.exe in Installs/Commons folder as admin

Upgrading PCLaw to Version 11
Click on PClaw program on desktop and a message should appear telling you to upgrade
Look for the c:\prog~1\pclaw11\netsetup.bet to upgrade/install program automatically
Wordperfect must be closed to upgrade
Error on start look under Options/Connection settings/...?
Kick all users off of PCLaw (for backup/update purposes)
View all Open Files on server and force close all open files that are referencing PCLaw
You can also view open sessions and force close open sessions of users that are still showing as logged into PCLaw
See all users logged into PCLAW
oPTIONS > uSER moNITOR
Error: "the pclaw connection has not been established on this workstation click ok to continue and then select the timekeeper"
Solution: 1. Disable PCLaw addin for Outlook 2. Open the PCLaw program and log in to your set of books. 3. Click Options and select Connection Settings... to open the Connection Settings window.

Click to remove the checkmark from the Use This Set of Books When Connecting with Other Programs checkbox and pressOK.

Restore from backup:
If PCLaw is corrupt of information needs to be restored from an earlier date you can restore the DYNDATA folder from Shadow Copy
Perform a Data Integrity Check
First thing to do before the check is to have all users logged out of PCLAW
Second thing to do before the integrity check is perform a backup of PCLaw
Login to PCLAW using the admin account
Click File > Backup > Backup to file
Save the Backup file using a date for reference
When backup is complete you can then run the data integrity check
Click Tools > Verify data integrity
Click Reset Matter Balances and then click OK
Check all the boxes in the data integrity check window (unless you are restoring somethign specific) and click OK
The data integrity check will now run and can take an hour or more to complete.
PCLaw and Amicus link keeps crashing
Applies to PCLAW v.14 and Amicus 2014
Open PCLaw as admin
Go to Options then connection settings
Set ‘Close connections after…’ to 0
This stops PCLAW from auto timing out the link when there is no activity for a certain amount of time.
Reset a Matter Balance
If a matter is causing problems from all workstations/logins to PCLaw you need
